Awards Ceremonies for the 2011 Series
New Winter Series 2011/12 - KF O Plate, Cadet, Rotax
MSA Approval has been given for 3 dedicated race weekends for the ABkC O Plate for KF2 & KF3, and to include Cadet Comer & Honda and Rotax classes. This will allow for plenty track time compared with being at a club meeting, optional Friday practice - GYG, Shenington and PFI. The Winter Cup is promoted and organised by Shenington Kart Racing Club. The entry and tyre/fuel order forms are duplicated on this site for convenience. Provisional points tables are here. Also please note that the ABkC O Plate for all other Direct Drive classes will be at Rowrah on 1-4 June 2012. Entry form for Round 2 at TVKC now on the forms page, or on Shenington website.
Dan Wheldon 1978-2011
All at Super One were shocked and saddened to learn of Dan Wheldon’s tragic accident in Las Vegas and extend their sympathies to his family and friends. After his first two RAC Cadet British Championship titles, Dan Wheldon raced with Super One for his third Cadet title, then went on to take the RAC British Junior Championship in 1993. He then raced karts internationally to great effect, his finest win being at Suzuka when he took the CIK-FIA World Cup in Formula A before entering his illustrious and well documented professional car racing career. Super One Series promoter John Hoyle said: “Dan was amongst the first batch of 8 to 11 year olds in the new for 1987 Cadet class, for three years he was the driver all the other kids had to try and beat. That era gave Britain two Formula 1 drivers in Jenson Button and Anthony Davidson, and a twice Indy 500 winner in Daniel. We extend our sincerest condolences to his wife, his parents and all his family.”
